Ball pressure test | |
The ball pressure test defines how much a material deforms under a certain pressure when it is also exposed to a high temperature. The test sample is a 3 mm thick plate. This plate of test material is placed horizontally and a 5 mm diameter steel ball with a force of 20N is pressed. The test load and support should be placed in the oven for a sufficient time to ensure that the stabilization reaches the test temperature before testing. This test is carried out in an oven at a temperature of 125 ° C (+/- 2 ° C). After 1 hour, the steel ball should be removed from the sample and submerged within 10 seconds in cold water to reach approximately room temperature. The material passes the test when the impression caused by the ball does not exceed 2 mm. | |
